Aarhus University

The School of Engineering of the Aarhus University works closely together with the industry in educating industry-minded engineers. We have done this since 1918 and will continue to do so. We are also developing new technologies in industry-related laboratories in order to constantly improve our studies and promote the competitive power of the industry.

Peter Gorm Larsen (professor) received his MSc (1988) and PhD (1995) from the Technical University of Denmark working on semantics and proof support for VDM. He is an authority on system modeling, particularly the Vienna Development Method, having written the major part of its ISO standard. He worked for most of his career in industry before entering academia in 2005. He pioneered the development of industrial-strength tool support for model-oriented specification languages while working at the Danish company IFAD. In this period he has been involved with many EU projects. He left IFAD after more than a decade leading the group that initially developed the VDMTools support tools since acquired by CSK Systems in Japan. He has consulted in the industrial use of VDM all over the world for many large international organisations including Aerospatiale, Matra, Dassault, Japan Railways, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and BAe Systems. He has published almost 100 articles and two books. He is also a reviewer for the EU on research projects. An overview of his work can be found at his web-site.
